Few exhibit areas remain in Lignum Brazil
The fair, one of the seven events comprising the International Timber Week, will be held in September in Curitiba
The Brazilian timber sector begins to show new signs of development. Exports to the American market have remained stable, and the next months seem to hold great opportunities. Likewise, companies have been looking at the domestic market with renewed optimism. In this scenario, with only five months left to the opening of Lignum Brazil and the Timber & Construction Expo, 54 exhibitors are already confirmed. Considering the total area of the fairgrounds, 71% of the fairs are already taken. "There are only 13 indoor areas left in the Lignum Brazil exhibit area and nine in the Timber & Construction Expo. Now, we expect to expand the outdoor area of the fairs," says Jorge R. Malinovski, general director of Malinovski, the company behind the International Timber Week.
Lignum Brazil and the Timber & Construction Expo are the Week's main events. Both fairs begin simultaneously on September 19th, in Curitiba (Paraná state), wrapping up on the 22nd. The main goal of the Week is to stimulate the integration of the timber production chain. A highly specialized public is expected to attend the fairs, professional visitors ready to present new technologies and discuss the future of the global market for wood-based products.
Complementing these two events, the International Timber Week is also formed by the 2nd WoodTrade Brazil, 2nd Brazilian Wood Energy Meeting, WoodProtection – South American Conference on Wood Protecion Technologies, ProWood – South American Conference on Wood Transformation and Beneficiation Technologies, and the 4th Timber & Construction Symposium.

Together, they managed to reunite and strengthen the Brazilian wood sector, as well as stimulate the use of timber in civil construction. Lignum Brazil is held by Malinovski, while the Timber & Construction Expo are an APRE (Association of Paraná Forestry Companies) event.
